Purpose

The Connect is a volunteer-driven initiative designed to deliver joy and engagement to children / patients with challenging medical conditions through virtual interactions. This program specifically focuses on underprivileged children from extremely low socio-economic backgrounds, including:

  • Palliative Care Children
    Those receiving end-of-life care.
  • Non-palliative Cancer Children
    Those undergoing cancer treatment but not in palliative care and unable to attend school due to the long duration of treatment.
  • Children with Critical Illnesses
    Those who cannot attend school.

Program Structure

Volunteers, known as Anjeze trainers, engage with children through online video sessions. The trainers conduct activities based on the child’s interests and needs, ensuring sessions are tailored to each individual.

Program Structure

Flexibility is Key
If a child expresses disinterest or is unwell, sessions are rescheduled according to the child’s mood and medical condition.
Frequency of Sessions
  • One-on-One Sessions
    Twice a week (45 mins each session), subject to the child’s condition and availability.
  • Group Sessions
    Once or twice a month, allowing children to interact and participate in group activities.

Monitoring Progress
Anjeze will provide monthly updates on the children’s status, including their engagement level and any changes in their condition.
