Being a part of this NGO has also given me the privilege to go for house visits at times. One of the most life-changing experiences for me was working with palliative care children through Anjezë, an NGO supporting children with life-limiting illnesses. When my daughter-in-law introduced me to Anjezë, I never imagined I could do any kind of seva at this age. I thought giving back to society was beyond my capacity. But when Janhavi told me that even from home I could contribute, I felt so happy and hopeful
She shared about the children at Tata Memorial Hospital and explained that my seva could begin with something as small as removing crayon wrappers so the kids could enjoy colouring without creating a mess in the OPD. Later, I was asked to help in numbering goodie bags by age for easy distribution in the wards
These may seem like small tasks, but for me, they gave immense joy. I realized that seva is not about how big the act is, but about doing it with love and sincerity. Today, I feel content and grateful that even in my own small way, I can bring smiles to these little warriors

Even after my children grew up, I stayed engaged in meaningful activities. I serve on the committee of an NGO that empowers women with skill-building and financial independence and several other constructive and productive ventures. Over the years, I’ve also loved teaching, helping children around me with schoolwork, whether they were friends of my children or kids of our household staff. I enjoyed seeing children learn, grow, and gain confidence. Children learn by exploring the world around them, fuelled by curiosity and wonder
