Purpose
Our Palliative Medicine Support initiative is to ensure that palliative care patients, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, unable to afford medicines, have access to essential medications. These medications, often crucial for pain management and overall symptom relief, are necessary for improving the quality of life for patients in their final stages of illness. By providing these medicines, we ensure that patients receive comprehensive care, reducing suffering and pain during this challenging time
Institutions
Bai Jerbai Wadia Hospital for Children (Mumbai)
Process
The hospital’s palliative care team prescribes medications that are essential for the patient’s palliative care and pain management
Anjezë procures the necessary medicines from trusted suppliers and pharmacies
The medicines are then delivered to the hospital’s palliative care department, where they are distributed to the patients in need, ensuring timely access to pain relief and symptom management
Regular monitoring and communication with the hospital ensure that the support is effective, and the medicines are used as prescribed, with periodic reports on the utilization and outcomes of the initiative
Impact
Our Palliative Medicine Support initiative ensures better pain relief and symptom management for patients, especially those from disadvantaged backgrounds. By providing essential medications, we enhance comfort, dignity, and ease the burden on families, while strengthening the hospital’s ability to deliver comprehensive, compassionate care
